Protect your Family and Pets!!!!!
Hi,

Here it is the 4th of July weekend. The time when we spend more
time out in the sun that any other week in the year. Sun protection
has changed so radically. I remember rubbing olive oil and
vinegar on, then we would use crisco to soften the skin or
baby oil and just burn the heck out of ourselves. We really
didn't know any better. Now they do, protect your family and
you, here's a great article on sunscreen, the best and worse.

http://www.webmd.com/skin-problems-and-treatments/news/20080701/group-sunscreens-effectiveness-hazy?ecd=wnl_day_070308&spon=912345_0

Also dogs and cats need protection from fireworks,
one of the best things to do if your little person is scared
is to close all windows, doors and curtains and play
background music to cover up the sounds. 5 out of
5 vets recommend you play 102.9 litefm!!!!!

For information on weekend traveling and what
road projects you might run into go to..
www.511mn..org

Have a great weekend and be safe driving and
don't blow any appendages off with your fireworks.

VISIT THE ZOO
Hi,

This morning we had the CEO of the MInnesota Zoo in studio
to tell us about the brand new exhibit,  Russia's Grizzly Coast.
It sounds very fun and exciting, including the new contest... you
can win "Breakfast With The Bears" you and your family will
enjoy breakfast with the bears, before the zoo opens, in the
bear cave, plus zoo admission, monorail passes and more.
Go to our contest page to sign up. You can't buy this, you
can only win it from the LIteFM Morning Show With Cindy Barton.

For more info on the zoo, and the new exhibit, plus video, go to:
www.mnzoo.org       and good luck in the contest. What a special
time for a lucky family.
YOUR DOGGY'S DNA
Have you ever wanted to test your dog's DNA?
If you are not sure of the breed, you can either do it
at home with a kit or bring them to your vet. The vet
will charge about $130 to $170.

A test kit comes from a company called MetaMorphix
out of Beltsville MD. It detects 108 breeds.

Either way, it's good to know your dog's breed because
then you can be aware of diseases and problems
they are predisposed to.
SAVING MONEY IS A GOOD THING!!!!
GET GLAM for LESS!!!!!!!

How to save money and still afford a spa treatment....

Right Brain or left brain?
Count up the yes and nos you have.

Are you better at math and science than art and literature?

Do you love playing outdoor sports over reading indoors?

Do you prefer verbal communication over physical communication?

Would you rather draw pictures freehand instead of putting
together a model airplane?

Do youlike being in groups more than being alone?

If the majority is yes, you are right brain thinkers
no left brain thinkers...

lefties.....accounting, numbers, jobs problem solving on your own,
reading, copywriting, editing, computer work, etc... you enjoy having
structure at work and like to follow guidelines, working at home.

right...instructors, teachers, careers that deal with groups or
brainstorming with groups...travel, doctors, customer service,
working at home is not good for these types, they need interaction
with people.

TRUE or NOT TRUE???
HI,

This morning we were quoting an article that talks about
cell phones...including this info...

The emergency number worldwide is 112...so no matter
where you are you can still get emergency help even if you
are not in ytour cell phone 's area.  We are checking on this
to see if it is avavilable here in the usa or only in Europe.

Press the keys *3370# you will find a reserve of energy in
your phone, so if it's running low, this will give you more power.
We were unable to check this because our cell phone's
were charged. Please try on yours and see if it works...or is
it a myth as listed on www.snopes.com

To get your cell phone's serial number  hit *#06#   a 15 digit
code will appear. When your phone gets stolen you give the
cell company this number.   This worked on Brian's phone
but not on mine...which leads us to believe that it may be
a different code for each company....

and last is the biggest question...if you lock yourself out of your
car, can someone at home hit your remote so it plays through
their phone and it opens up your door when you hold your phone
near the lock.  They say distance is no object ...you could be
hundreds of miles away. We would love for you to test this and
let us know if it works for you. The e-mails we received today
were split, with some people saying they have done it and others
saying it's impossible....let me know what you think about this
and what you discovered...we already know about the site
www.snopes.com, who say this is all urban legend.  send me
an e-mail and we'll come up with conclusions tomorrow.
Adopt a furry friend!!!!!
Hi,

Maybe you have always wanted a dog or cat but
can't for any number of reasons. The Twin Cities
Humane Society has the answer. How about a
domesticated, sweet furry rat? Seriously these little
guys make great pets. I had several growing up as
did my daughter. They are lovable, like to be held,
respond to their names, eat mostly plants but will
nibble on meat...are very clean, they wash and groom
themselves as frequently as cats...and they laugh!!!!
They make a chirping sound when you tickle them.
They need no shots and have a 2-3 year life span.
They are intelligent and you can teach them tricks...
on top of all this they are low maintenance.....
(this is sounding better than a husband!!!!!)
They are only $5 to adopt and will love you for their
lifetime.  For more info call 612-673-4788.
Use the right SUN Protection
Very important for you and your family to wear the right
protection on their skin to prevent cancer and early aging.

Grabbing a brand with a high SPF is just not enough
anymore because that will only cover UVB rays only.

While UVA rays have been found to penetrate deeper
into the skin and cause 90% of skin changes. So whatever
sunscreen you buy make sure it has one of these products in it
for UVA protection......

ecamsule, avobenzone, oxybenzone, titanium dioxide,
sulisobenzone, zinc oxide or helioplex.

For more info this is a link to a great article that goes
further in depth but is not confusing....

Does your coffee explain your personality?
If you drink black coffee...you are responsible, ambitious and
agressive.

Cafe au Lait.....very laid back and feels comfortable in traditional
male female roles.

Mocha Flavored Coffee...universal romantics who love to be in love

Iced Mocha... seductive flirts, but looking for a longterm relationship.

Chai tea latti...often stressed and anxious

Coffee based frappuccino...loaded with ambition and energetic.

Do these match up to youe coffee drinking ways?
SAVE MONEY, It's a Good thing!!!!
Save some money on keeping your house cool with some
simple but effective tips.

Make sure your ceiling fan is blowing down, also consider
installing more in your home or at least use portable fans,
air movement will make you feel 2-3 degrees cooler....
putting a bowl of icecubes in front of the fan will make you
feel an extra 2 degrees cooler. So if you did both of these
the family would instead feel like the inside temp is 69 when
it's 74.

Shade your compressor outside your home, without blocking
it. and clean or replace filter every few weeks.

When redoing your roof use light color shingles so the roof
will reflect the heat and sun instead of absorbing it.

The same for inside, dark shades or curtains will absorb
heat, light and white will reflect so your rooms stay cooler
and the air conditioner doesn;t have to work as hard.
Be here Monday!!!!!
Hi,

A reminder to be here Monday morning and all week for tickets to

Ultimate Girl's night out with limo service, dinner and tickets to Sex and the City.
I saw the movie Friday and I loved it!!! it was fun and I cried like a baby

January 8, 2008

A University of Minnesota study has confirmed that teenage girls show less problems with weight control and food disorders if they eat a family dinner, lunch or breakfast at least 5 times a week.

They feel it may be the social interaction and the parents seeing what their eating that may help.

Some signs to look for if your child has an eating disorder include:

  • Excessive exercise
  • idolizing slender people in the media
  • Filling up on an abnormal amount of water and chewing gum to feel full
  • they stop eating socially
  • certain food groups are completely eliminated

Ike Turner passed away. He was notorious for abusing his wife Tina. He put in his book in 2001 about his fights with Tina Turner. I didn't want to say this on the air because of kids listening, but this is his quote "Sure, I slapped Tina,,,there have been times when I punched her to the ground without thinking, but I never beat her"....That is so incredibly sad..he was still in the state of mind that slapping and punching her was ok.
